Today starts with sunrise spreading over Peak’s Island, Maine and riding in with the tide from Casco Bay to the Fore River. It’s cold. Mornings are ritualistic, with freshly ground Peet’s French Roast brewed on the stovetop, a 6-cup espresso pot – for the two of us. Marc is the coffee maker, pot washer and poet.
Breakfast is homemade granola, featuring Maine Grandy Oats, local honey and a bag of TJ’s trail mix, Winterhill Farm organic milk.
Yep, food is important to us: where it comes from, how it’s prepared, how it’s presented and how it’s enjoyed. Food is the ultimate performance art.
